Internship In Chinese Medicine (Herbal)

(25 classes, 4 hours each = 100 contact hours)

Tuition: $1,650.00

Books: as required for the basic and intermediate courses.

Prerequisite: Chinese Medicine I and II, or equivalent. No additional books required. Times arranged according to students and teachers availability. Students will fill herbal prescriptions under supervision of an Oklahoma Healing Arts Institute Teacher and in accordance with principles learned in Chinese Herbal Medicine courses I and II.

Students will review actual case histories, study patient charts, practice correct charting as they share with their instructor the Intake and "processing" of real patients. Students will properly categorize patients into Chinese Disease Categories and write Treatment Principles. Students will formulate herbal prescriptions and prescribe to patients. They will mix these herbals as prescribed and/or locate the proper patent medicines, complete a patient Instruction sheet, and explain the prescription to the patient.

All this is done under the watchful eye and review of the herbal instructor, who will assist the student at every stage as required. Successful completion of this and prerequisite courses (312 hours) will qualify the student to apply for Doctorial status in the National Barefoot Doctor's Association, and to sit for the NBDHb Exam.
